Setting up and Configuring the AutomatR Service
Prerequisites: Setting up Credentials in Orchestrator
Before proceeding with the configuration of AutomatR Service, you need to configure Instance and setup your credentials in AutomatR Orchestrator:
- Log in to your AutomatR Orchestrator account using a web browser.
- Navigate to the "Instances" Tab within Orchestrator.
- In the Orchestrator's "Instances" tab, click on the "Add Instance" button.
- Provide a name for your Instance and your System Name in the respective fields.
- To find your System Name, open your system's command prompt and type "whoami." Copy the system name displayed.
- Enter the Instance Name and System Name you obtained in the above step in the "Add Instance" section of Orchestrator.
- Click "Add" to create the Instance.
- Navigate back to the "Instances" tab in AutomatR Orchestrator.
- Copy the generated Instance Key from the Instances table.
Configuring the AutomatR Service
After installation once you launch AutomatR Service, AutomatR Instance Configuration Tool window appears.
Enter the Orchestrator URL (with Tenant Key) along with the Instance Key. These are typically provided by your AutomatR Orchestrator administrator.
Configuring the AutomatR Configuration Tool:
- Return to the AutomatR Configuration Tool (from step 2).
- Paste the copied Instance Key into the designated field.
- Also, enter the Orchestrator URL with the Tenant Key.
- Click "Connect" to proceed.
The AutomatR Configuration Tool will verify the Instance Key details and display the Instance Name along with a "Connect" option.
Connecting to the Instance:
- Review the Instance details in the Configuration Tool.
- Click on the "Connect" button to establish the connection with the AutomatR Orchestrator.
With these steps, you have successfully set up and configured the AutomatR Service, connected it to your AutomatR Orchestrator, and learned how to manage the service, including starting, stopping, pausing, and restarting it as needed. This will allow you to execute unattended automation tasks using AutomatR.
View and Manage AutomatR Service (Optional)
Viewing AutomatR Service:
- After the connection is established, you can open the "Services" option in Windows to view the AutomatR Service running in the list.
Managing the AutomatR Service:
- Click on the AutomatR Service from the list to view options like Start Service, Stop Service, Pause Service, and Restart Service.
- The description should mention "AutomatR Service for Unattended Bot."
Service Options Explanation:
- Start Service: Use this option to initiate the AutomatR Service if it's not running.
- Stop Service: This option halts the AutomatR Service.
- Pause Service: Pauses the service, allowing you to resume it later.
- Restart Service: This option stops and then restarts the AutomatR Service.
