Item Priority

The Item Priority window within the Queue tab of the AutomatR Orchestrator application allows users to manage and configure different priority levels for the items within a queue. This feature ensures efficient processing of tasks by assigning varying levels of importance. Let's explore each of the sections and options available within the Item Priority window in detail:

FieldDescription
Priority NameThe Priority Name section displays the descriptive name assigned to a specific priority level. This name serves as an identifier and helps users understand the significance of the priority.
Priority KeyThe Priority Key section provides a unique identifier for the priority level. This key is used programmatically to reference and differentiate between different priority settings.
LevelThe Level section indicates the numerical representation of the priority level. Lower numbers typically indicate higher priority, ensuring that critical tasks are processed before lower-priority tasks.

The Item Priority window within the Queue tab of the AutomatR Orchestrator application offers a comprehensive interface for managing and configuring priority levels for tasks within a queue. By providing options for editing, deleting, and searching priority levels, this feature ensures optimal task processing, efficient resource allocation, and streamlined automation workflows.

Add Item Priority

Here's a brief procedure for adding an Item Priority from the Item Priority window under the Queue tab in the AutomatR Orchestrator application:

  • Log in to the AutomatR Orchestrator application using your credentials.

  • Navigate to the Queue tab and locate the Item Priority window.

  • For initiating Item Priority Creation, look for the Add button within the Item Priority window. Click this button to open the item priority creation form.

  • Enter a descriptive name for the new item priority in the provided field. This name should reflect the significance or importance of the priority level.

  • Similarly, in the next field, enter a unique key for the item priority. The key serves as a reference and identifier for the priority level.

  • Enter an integer value in the Level field(Only accepts integer values). This value represents the numerical significance of the priority level. Lower numbers typically indicate higher priority.

  • Take a moment to review the entered information, including Priority Name, Priority Key, and Level. Ensure accuracy and consistency.

  • Once you're satisfied with the details, click the Add button. This action will finalize the item priority creation process and add the new priority to the list.

  • You should receive a confirmation message indicating that the item priority has been successfully added. Verify that the new priority appears in the item priority list.

  • With the item priority added, you can now proceed to assign these priorities to tasks within your queues. Prioritize tasks based on their importance and optimize the processing order.

Note: Ensure that the entered information accurately represents the significance and order of priority levels. The priority name, key, and level should align with your automation workflow requirements.

Adding an item priority from the Item Priority window in the Queue tab involves entering the priority name, key, and level. After reviewing and confirming the details, clicking the add button finalizes the process and adds the new item priority to the AutomatR Orchestrator environment. This ensures efficient task processing and optimal resource allocation within the queue.

Update Item Priority

In the AutomatR Orchestrator, you can easily update the priority of queue items through the Item Priority window in the Queues Tab. The Actions column in the Item Priority table provides options to interact with individual priority and allows you to modify the attributes and properties of a specific priority level. Users can adjust the priority name, key, or level to align with changing requirements. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to update the priority of a queue item:

  • Log in to the AutomatR Orchestrator, navigate to the Queues tab and select the Item Priority window.

  • From the Item Priority table, find the specific priority for which you want to update.

  • In the Actions column associated with the priority, click on the Edit option.

  • Upon clicking Edit, a form will appear with the selected item priority details pre-populated.

  • Enter the necessary details for updating the priority:

    • Priority Name: Modify the name of the priority.

    • Priority Key: Change the unique identifier for the priority.

    • Level: Adjust the priority level (typically, an integer value that determines the order of processing).

  • After confirming or making any required updates to the item priority details, click on the Update button to save the changes.

  • The system will process the updates, and the item priority will be modified accordingly.

  • Upon successful updating, you will receive a confirmation message indicating that the item priority has been updated.

  • The item priority for the selected priority will now reflect the changes you made and will be used to prioritize items within that queue.

Updating item priorities in the AutomatR Orchestrator is a straightforward process that allows users to modify item priority settings as needed. By following the above steps, users can ensure that their queues are configured correctly, and items are processed in the desired order based on priority levels.

Delete Item Priority

The Actions column in the Item Priority table provides options to interact with individual priority, the Delete option from the Actions column allows you to remove a priority level from the AutomatR Orchestrator environment. This action should be performed with caution, as it may affect the processing order of tasks. Use this action for permanently removing the item priority from Orchestrator or when it is no longer required in your automation infrastructure.
